We run initiatives including Media Accelerator programme,and other youth-led media and digital technology programs. Our mission is to equip young people with the tools, skills, and opportunities to thrive in the digital world.

Role Overview

The Communication & Marketing Intern will support Ubah Media Lab’s efforts to amplify its initiatives, enhance stakeholder engagement, and strengthen brand visibility. The intern will work across all initiatives, ensuring consistent messaging, effective campaigns, and high-quality content that reflects the Lab’s mission.

Key Responsibilities

Communication & Content Creation:

  • Develop and manage content for social media, website, newsletters, and other digital platforms.
  • Assist in producing visual and multimedia content (graphics, videos, infographics).
  • Draft press releases, blog posts, and public communication materials.
  • Ensure all content aligns with Ubah Media Lab’s brand, mission, and values.

Marketing & Outreach:

  • Support planning and execution of marketing campaigns for Lab initiatives.
  • Track engagement metrics and provide insights to improve outreach.
  • Assist in creating promotional materials for workshops, events, and programs.
  • Engage with youth networks, partners, and stakeholders.

Initiative Support:

  • Collaborate with teams running Media Accelerator programme and other Initiatives hosted by the lab.
  •  Help document program outcomes, case studies, and success stories. – Coordinate communications around events, webinars, and training sessions.

Research & Analysis:

  • Assist in monitoring digital trends, media coverage, and online engagement.
  • Contribute to audience and stakeholder research to inform communication strategies.

Administrative Support:

  • Maintain a content calendar for all communication channels.
  • Support preparation of presentations, reports, and marketing materials.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Pursuing or recently graduated in Communications, Marketing, IT or related field is preferred.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Proficiency in social media management and digital marketing tools.
  • Basic graphic design and video editing skills (Canva, Adobe Suite, or equivalent).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Interest in youth empowerment, media literacy, and digital innovation.
