Empowering the Next Generation of Somali Storytellers

The Ubah Media Lab Media Accelerator is a three-month intensive training programme designed to equip aspiring and early-career media practitioners with the essential skills to thrive in today’s fast-changing media landscape.

Blending online learning, interactive workshops, and hands-on assignments, participants develop their craft in journalism, digital storytelling, and communication — culminating in a capstone project showcasing their newly acquired skills.

Hands-on training in radio production, podcasting, and video storytelling — from pre-production to final edit.

Creating engaging digital content, managing social media platforms, and building audiences in the digital ecosystem.

Fact-Checking & Combating Misinformation

Tools and methodologies for verifying information, debunking false narratives, and promoting media literacy.

Advocacy & Community Storytelling

Using media as a tool for social change — designing campaigns, amplifying community voices, and driving impact.

Media Entrepreneurship & Career Development

Building sustainable media ventures, personal branding, portfolio development, and navigating the media industry.

Capstone Project

Each participant completes a capstone project — such as a podcast, short film, article, or digital campaign — showcasing their newly acquired skills. Successful participants receive a certificate of completion and an opportunity to publish their work on Ubah Media Lab’s platforms and partner networks.
